His family line in Ohio seems generally to be as follows: 1. Robert McMaster(s) b. abt 1795 in PA, a descendant of immigrants from Scotland who resided near Gettysburg. Robert farmed in Belmont Co OH, and by 1850, was an Associate Judge of the Court of Common Pleas for that county. Robert's first wife was Sarah Meek who died in 1850. Second wife was Mary A. Rankin.
