Looking for descendents of John A. and Christine (Gardhefner) Hammer family of Lawrence Twp. area of Stark County, living there in the mid 1800's. Most are buried in the Canal Fulton and Canton area. Thought to have immigrated to America around 1830 - 1840. John and Christine(Gardhefner) had 8 children: Catherine, Mary, Jacob, Dominick, Simon, Andrew, Elizabeth, and John Their daughter, Catherine, married John Weaver of the same general area and are buried in St. John's Cemetery, Canton. Their son, Jacob J. Hammer, was a wagonmaker and moved to Chippewa Twp (Doylestown) and later to Milton Twp., Wayne County. Jacob and his wife had 12 children and they are buried in Sts.
