My great grandfather, David Bachtel, was born June 8, 1812 in Washington Co. Maryland. I think that he lived there until he was around 18 years old, then he moved to Stark County, Ohio. He had a brother named Joseph, born September 14, 1805 in Fredrick Co. Maryland. Joseph also moved to Stark Co. Ohio. Their father's name was Christian, according to family stories, but I haven't been able to connect him positively. Some people think that the Christian Bachtel b. 1772 in PA (married Catherine Smith) is their father. Is there anyone who has information on this family? Thanks, Marilyn
