    3. Hello all. Here in OH, a death record from that period SHOULD contain the name of the deceased, their address at time of death; name of spouse & whether they are also deceased; names of both parents, and place of birth of deceased and parents. Cause of death, location and date of burial are also certified. So it is a pretty complete record. However. There is always a however in genealogy. The information you get depends on the reliability of the informant. (THE INFORMANT'S NAME & ADDRESS ARE ALSO GIVEN, WHICH CAN SOMETIMES LEAD YOU TO THE NEXT GENERATION.) In some cases, the parent may be listed as "unknown;" same with their place of origin. In my experience, it happens when the informant is an in-law, grandchild, or someone else fairly removed in time who just does not know or remember. Your best bet, if possible, is to get the death cert. for a "child" who was comparitively young, and also to order death cert. for other "children" of the couple youy are searching for. You can then compare entries and get at the "real" truth. I searched for the maiden name of a German Immigrant gg-grandmother-- it did not appear on her cert., that of my g-grandmother, or one of her sisters. I finally found the cert. for the sister who died first, and voila! There is finally was. Those names are often spelled differently too. Here is the URL for how & where to get various vital records from OH: http://www.vitalrec.com/oh.html In your case, you can order from the OH Historical Society in Columbus for $3.00. If you live in the state, you can visit and make your own copy for $.25; you can also do that in Youngstown. There is an idex to OH death records from 1913-1938 online at their website: http//:www.ohiohistory.org/ Good hunting.
