Rev. J. M. BRAY, Sr., one of the three oldest Methodist Episcopal ministers in the United States, died at his house at Jeddo Friday afternoon, Sept. 11, in the ninety-sixth year of his age. The deceased was in failing health for a year past, but until four weeks ago he took a lively-interest in all that transpired and frequently took short walks. On Aug. 21 he was taken suddenly ill with a nervous chill accompanied by nausea and sank into a semi-comatose state from which he never fully rallied, At times, however, he appeared quite conscious only to relapse into sleep until the eve of Sept. 11, just at sundown, he sank into the sleep that knows only the awakening of the Resurrection.
