> #1 [OHSTARK] Town of ONASBURG, STARK ["Diana Davis" <ddavis@logicsouth.c] Osnaburg was a village and the name was changed to East Canton about 1917 during WWI as it was a German name and the persons wanted not to be connected to the German's in the war. It is 5 miles west of Canton on route 30 and I lived one block west of the square until 1958. It is in Osnaburg Twp. Another name change was New Berlin and it changed to North Canton also during the WW I. I have a lot of HEIM, STARKEY, SHEFFER, and others from the eastern part of Stark Co.
