Oh Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/Stark/12013 Surname: Bell, Croninger, Basbinder, Waydelich, White ------------------------- I'm looking for information on my great grandparents Joseph Dawson Bell and Martha Magdalin Croninger. From family records and letters between family members I believe the following information is basically correct, but would like help with the female lines and confirmation of dates and places. Joseph Dawson Bell was born Oct. 12, 1820 in Stark County, Ohio, died August 9, 1878. He married Martha Magdalin Croninger Oct. 15, 1840 in Stark County, Ohio. She was born October 18, 1821 in Stark County, Ohio, died November 19, 1877. I believe both of them died just over the Ohio line in Indiana and were buried in Edgerton, Ohio. Parents of Joseph Dawson Bell are James Bell (b. 1783 d. 1839) and Margaret Basbinder (1789-1864, daughter of Phillip Basbinder and Ruth (?). They were married Dec. 31, 1807, location unknown. I know of know other children of this marriage, although there probably were some. The known children of Joseph Dawson Bell and Martha Magdalin Croninger are: Lucinda, b. 1841 m. Jacob Benton Waydelich; Margaret, b. 1843, never married; Saryarme, b. 1845 m. Solomon Knisely; Benjamine, b. 1847 m. Ellen Sharp March 17, 1878 and had four sons, Joseph, Dawson, Lorenzo and James; William Henderson b. 1863 and was a telegraph operator in Chicago. Lucinda Bell and Jacob Waydelich had two children, Martha Madama, my grandmother, and James Sheridan. They lived in Livingston, County Missouri. Lorenzo Bell married Manda Lower Aug. 29, 1878 and lived on a farm in Indiana. They had four children, Hattie, Maud, Adessa and Ray Ellsworth. Any connections?
