All known Stark Co., OH cemeteries have been read and transcriptions published in seven volumes in the 1980s. Stark Co Genealogical Society transcribed indexes to all seven volumes which is now entered on Rootsweb's Book Index website at http://userdb.rootsweb.com/bookindexes/ I typically enter just the surname and click on Search. This will bring up all publications for that surname in their database. If you find a match for Stark Co. cemetery index you can request a copy of that page from Stark County District Library via their website http://www.starklibrary.org/genealogyservices.html or our Society. You can also ask for the information by giving the name, volume number, and page number on this Stark List and I'm sure someone will look it up for you - myself included. I checked for Laura Whittmore but did not find her listed. You might try various spelllings via the above website. If you have a death date, you can request a copy of the obituary from the library as well and perhaps that will advise where she was buried. Another great source is Stark County Probate Court website. http://www.probate.co.stark.oh.us/search/search.html Good luck, Shirley In a message dated 2/1/2006 6:27:32 AM Eastern Standard Time, [email protected] writes: Can some tell me if the cemeteries in the Canton area have been read. Hello to the list. Thanks to Shirley, I've found a listing in the index of Stark County Cemetery Inscriptions. Can someone please do a lookup for me? I've already make one request this week to the Stark Cty. Library, so I didn't want to send another so soon. Book Listing found for George W LENTZ: Name: LENTZ, George W Page: 106 Book: Cemetery Inscriptions of Stark County, Ohio - Volume 5 (1982) Author: Stark County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogy Society Thank you! Sorry I didn't think of this the first time as, I thought that George's wife was buried in Arkansas where she died. Turns out that she's buried with George in Canton. If someone is able to find the info on George W. Lentz (see below), can you also post the info on his wife, Mabel? According to the index, she's on the same page, 106 in Vol. 5. These are my gr-grandparents, so I'm gathering all I can on them. Thanks much!
