It is a volunteer work in progress with approximately 90,000 names indexed from the Massillon Evening Independent itself with 3 other Ohio counties included. The Independent index covers obits from 1863 to present with an unrecoverable gap from 1873 to 188?. Yes, there was a newspaper fire. Hope this helps.
