Buffy Hi! It seems we have a common connection as to Paris, Stark County and Alsace-Lorraine. I wonder what caused the migration. It seems that George Gurney below, was also in Illinois as his first daughter was born there in 1859. GEORGE WILLIAM GURNEY1,2 was born 1824 in Alsace Lorraine, France, and died 1906 in Paris, Ohio. He married (1) ANNA HANEY3,4. She was born 1834 in Berne, Switzerland, and died 1916 in Paris, Ohio, buried in Liberty Cemetery, Paris Twp. Stark Co. Ohio. Children of GEORGE GURNEY and ANNA HANEY are: 2. i. JANE2 GURNEY, b. Abt. 1859, illinois. ii. ELIZABETH GURNEY, b. Abt. 1861, Waynesburg, Stark County Ohio. iii. LAURA GURNEY, b. Abt. 1862, Waynesburg, Stark County Ohio; m. JESS BATES. 3. iv. FRANKLIN FREDRICK GURNEY, b. Abt. 1865, Waynesburg, Stark County Ohio; d. Abt. 1940, Buried Eastlawn Cemetery, Minerva, Stark County, Ohio. 4. v. ROBERT WILLIAM GURNEY, b. January 18, 1870, Waynesburg, Stark County Ohio; d. Abt. 1929, Buried Liberty Cemetery, Paris Township, Stark County, Ohio. 5. vi. FRANCES (TERACE) TRACY GURNEY, b. October 04, 1872, Waynesburg, Ohio Sandy Twp, Stark county; d. August 28, 1930, Shanesville, Tuscarawas County, Ohio Buried in Shanesville in Family plot. Frances married John Colwell Myers. Thanks Tina
