Carol, Could you please lookup a marriage of John (Johann Georg) THUMM between 1860-1870: He is listed in the 1860 Census (9Jun1860) as a resident of Lawrence Township, Tuscarawas County OH-It very well could have been Zoar-owned land, they were very close to town; the Thumm residence was counted as #187; the Zoar census starts with the #218 house counted. : John G. THUME(sic) 46, farm laborer; Wuerttemberg Margaret THUME(sic) 48; Wuerttemberg John THUMM 17; Jacob THUMM 16; Elizabeth THUMM 13, in school; Godfried THUMM 8, in school The church records from St. Paul's in Navarre were transcribed & printed in book form in 1967 by a Fayne Harter. There are no THUMMs listed in the index however - the confirmation records show (listed in the index as TRUMM) a George THUMM, born Sept. 9, 1842(confirmed 3/16/1856). The book had Trumm in the index, Thumm on that page. This finding listed as Georg TRUMM(sic) in St. Paul's United Church of Christ records in Navarre, Stark County OH; confirmation documented on 16Mar1856 (birth recorded 9/9/42 Wuerttemberg) coincides with German church records for the birth date of Johann Georg THUMM. He is found in the 1870 OH CENSUS: Seneca County, 1st Ward, city of Tiffin, Clinton Township (recorded on 19Jul1870) - John was living in the same household (dwelling #348) as: Phillip YUNK age 28 (owner of the property), occupation: tanner, b France of foreign born parents Adeline age 23 keeping house Frederick age 3 b OH Cora age 2 b OH John THUM age 27, occupation: tanner - listed as citizen of US, b Wurttemberg of foreign parents Christina age 25, wife Margaret age 3, b OH Lizzie age 1, b OH Tom THUMM
