    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: davelifethoughts Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.counties.stark/5045.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: We have much on Seely ancestry, as Frank Seely, brother of a Harold Seely, is our direct ancestry. Not completely verified that the Ohio Harold Seely is that brother, but seems likely. The 1951 Memphis TN obit of Frank Seely gives this info on siblings: " he leaves three brothers, Harold Seely and William Seely of Philadelphia, Pa., and Albert Seely of Alaska, and a sister, Mrs. Louise Trogalin of Warren Point, NJ." Unclear about reference to Harold Seely being in Phildelphia. Could well be lack on knowledge by informant. 1917-1918 WWI draft registration puts Harold Seely in Richland County OH, where Blanche Bright lived in 1920. We believe that Harold Seely is son Edward Brooks Seely and Elizabeth Simms. We have much on their ancestry. 1910 census of Southampton, Suffolk County NY: Edward Seely, 43, b NY, parents CT/NY, farmer, dairy farm, widowed s, Frank, 14, b NY s, Harold, 12, b NY s, William, 10, b NY However, no Louise in 1910 or 1920. Ohio death certificate shows a Harold Nelson Seely, b 27 Aug 1897, South Hampton NY, d 19 May 1952, Wooster, Wayne County, Ohio, Parents listed as William Seely, and Elizabeth. Occupation, automotive electrician. Listed as married. Informant was Blanche A Seely. This record showing father as William Seely would conflict with father being Edward Brooks Seely, but informant(wife, Blanche) may have been unsure of Harold's father's name. No confirmation this is correct Harold Seely, brother of Frank Seely. Similarities include census family of same names, place of birth, and occupation similar to Frank Seely. Best confirmation seems to be that there were only 2 Harold Seely's in NY in 1900 census, and only 1 in Suffolk County, and this Harold is right age. Seems a very likely match. Noteworthy that Frank Seely moved south and worked on a dairy farm in Desoto County MS in 1920. Not sure how a teenager from NY gets so far away from family at such a young age. Frank Seely later settled near Memphis TN and worked as operated as auto mechanic business, then later became a mail carrier.
