Xavier DEPRES m. Maryanne BORON in Stark Co., OH in 1848. A year later they had a daughter Marie Veronique. In 1860 they were all living in Olive Twp., Clinton Co., Mich., along with several other family, many born in France but with children born in Ohio. There seems to have been a France->Stark Co., Ohio->Clinton Co., Michigan connection in the period 1840-1860. Anybody know anything about this? Anybody recognize the two surnames BORON and/or DESPRES? Allan Abrahamse Long Beach, CA allanabr@att.net
I am looking for information on Thomas LISTER and his wife Clara (maiden name JACKSON). Also, I am looking for the names of any children they had. They had one son named Victor H. LISTER. I am trying to make a connection to Homer A. LISTER born 25 DEC 1893. Victor is believed to have become a dentist and later resided in Willoughby. Homer married Ruth WEBER of Hawthorne, NY. They resided in Parma Heights and then moved to Willoughby. Audra Fletcher
Hi List, My surnames. Althaus lived in Holmes and Wyandot Counties OH. also. Families ended up in Greene CO. MO by 1880-90. DeSoto, IL is also a place of residence. Thanks, Nancy Helvey

I am looking to find out information on the surname of MOORE. I have the Mary MOORE married Jacob Newton REPP on May 10th 1838. I need both of their parents names. and of course any other information this record may have.
Am just slightly familiar with Hampden Watch Factory. They eventually closed and moved operations to Russia (guess they were bought by the Russians). Happen to have had a great uncle who worked for them, and went to Russia to train the employes. His name was Burt Beebout of Canton, Oh. Don't know how much more help I can be, but try me. Hello Everyone, I just got a copy of my gg grandfather's obit who died in 1916. It says he came to Canton "when the watch factory located here." Does anyone know of a Watch factory that moved to Canton from either New York City or Newark, New Jersey? Lisa __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Hi everybody. Wanted to tell you all about a fantastic book of mid to late 19th century remembrances I came across. It is: A Son Of The Middle Border, by Hamlin Garlin. The copy I found (at Goodwill) was published in 1917, but it is still availible in paperback at places like Barnes and Noble, or through Inter-library loan. It starts by saying his first memory is of his father coming home from the Civil War, and then goes into stories of growing up in that time, threshing and harvesting, moving about frequently, and living in small cabins and farm houses. It is primarily about Wisconsin, but I think many of these stories would be applicable to our ancestors in Ohio. Don't know how it ends yet, as I am only halfway thru. Give it a try--it seems an accurate account of life then. Jim Jacquet digiredu@cco.net ICQ: 56564911 JACQUET genealogy site: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Pond/7087/family/ also researching: GILLIER,MUGNIER,VIENE,CHEVRIEUX,GLADIEUX, MASSON, BONVALOT (BOVOLET, BEAUVALLON), MEYERS (MYERS)
Now I'm really reaching... I may be connected with the above names. Anybody out there researching any of those? If so, would you please post some details?

I am trying to find out information on an undertaker. On my gg grandfather's death cert. from 1916 it lists a George E. Seesholtz from Canton Ohio as the undertaker. I was wondering if anyone knows who this person is, what funeral home he was part of, and if his records are still around somewhere, where I can search them. First I would like to thank everyone that replied to my e-mail about West Lawn Cemetery. You all have been very helpful. I just found out basically today that my gg grandparents lived in Canton (I thought they lived and died in New Jersey). I was wondering if anyone could please tell me if there was a newpaper in Canton in 1916 that I can try and find an obit in. (I am hoping it would tell me something about him, all I know from his death cert. is that he was a watch maker)I don't think an obit for him would have been in the Cleveland Plain Dealer or Press. Also, I am not famliar with Stark County genealogy, I was wondering if there is a will index that covers 1916 or if I would have to contact the court house for that. Thank you again, everyone has been very help and nice. Lisa _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com

It is in good conditon and I imagine, of some value to someone connected to Stark County. Any thoughts on who would value having this postcard? I'm not interested in a profit just looking to see it gets to an organization that may put it on display. Merry Christmas. Sincerely, Orin Reams oreams@yahoo.com
