I have a question I was wondering if someone could answer it for me. A Distant relative Frederick M. Zellers was born in 1850 in Tuscarawas County OH and died in 1926 in Stark County.. I was told they do not have his birth records recorded but I was wondering if I went for his death certificate dod 12/15/1926 if it would have his parents names on it....this is what I am looking for.. It does not have them listed on the marriage certificate which I have. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thank you,,, Karen Zellers

Hi, Is anyone searching the REBER family? Elizabeth REBER SMITH (daughter of Jacob REBER) and her husband Michael SMITH (son of Andraes SMITH) may be the parents of my 3rd great grandfather, Jeremiah SMITH who moved to Ohio from Pa in about 1826. Jeremiah SMITH'S wife was Regina or Rowena ARNOLD. Their daughter Maria SMITH (born about 1824) and her husband, Frederick DAGUE (son of Frederick DAGE/DAGUE and Catherine HARSH) were my gg grandparents. Starting at 8 a.m. PST Friday, February 23, RootsWeb will begin a planned temporary downtime for maintenance of its servers and hosting process. It will limit this downtime as much as possible, and will return with increased performance and reliability for future growth. In the meantime, please take time to visit RootsWeb.com's sister sites -- Ancestry.com and FamilyHistory.com -- where you will find additional tools such as message boards, communities, and databases to help you in the search for your ancestors. Would anyone have a cemetery book, other than Vol 1 and 2 as I have them that would look for the surname of Peart. John Peart abt. 1849, and wife Rebecca, and others. I would appreciate it. Thank you, Brenda
I'm doing a search on a Patrick Ryan family, Patrick,w. Sadie (Sarah), one known son,Patrick J. Ryan. Patrick J. claimed Canton as his home on his WW1 enlistment paper,NOT draft record as I can not find that as yet. So ,being new to this genealogy,I guess what I'm asking is 2 questions. #1-where would his draft record be if in fact he lived in Canton in 1918? #2-where could I find someone to look on a 1900 census to see if he is in Canton at that time? Patrick J. Ryan dob 1885. Was 33 1/12 on his enlistment. and lived at 227S. Market St.,Canton. Any help would be very appreciated. I am interested in the migration route between Stark County and Wabash County, IN around 1845 - 1850. It is a fairly straight shot, at least as it appears on the map, but I was wondering if there was a particular trail that was used from Stark County, going westward into IN during that time period? I am researching the WINGER and SHAFFER families that left Stark County and ended up in Wabash County, IN by the 1850 census. If I knew the probable route they took, it might help my search for them along the way a little easier. Thanks! Hello all, my name is Carol and I'm new to this site. I'm researching EDWARDS, REICHERT names. Margaretta/Margaretha Reichert/Reihert (etc) married William P. Edwards. She was born 1810 in Germany/France. He was born 1800 in Beaver County PA.. They married in 1830, location unknown. Through their life time they lived in both Beaver Co PA and OH, possibly Columbiana County. At the Roots Web WorldConnect site I found two possible (by birth dates and birth place) Stark Co. candidates: Anna Margaretha Reichert dau. of John Leonhard Reichert and Eva Elisabethe Groll and Margaretha Richert, dau. of Phillip Richert and Anna Maria Zeiter, Can anyone at this site provide any marriage information for these two women? TIA, Carol
A while back I had a email posted about finding naturalization papers for a Peter Croft (Kroft) who resided in Washington Twp, Stark County, Ohio. He should have completed his papers before 1870 because on the 1870 census it states he is a citizen..They papers were originally started in St. Joseph County, Indiana. I have a copy of the "First papers". In Indiana they do not show that he completed the paperwork and around 1863 he moved to Ohio. The papers were started in 1860 in Indiana. So, I believe that he finished them in Ohio, but where. I have checked (called) Stark County Court and they do not have them; checked with Historical society and they do not have records during that time period. Is there anywhere else that I can check...Any help would be appreciated. Jacque Wallingford Rmomba@aol.com
