    3. I had the wonderful experience of contacting Westlawn Cemetery by phone. These folks were so helpful that not only did they find the burial (interment card) on the name I was looking for but found three family plots. They mailed me photos of the cards within one week. She said no charge, but I sent them some money for their efforts and my appreciation. To my knowledge, they have no website or email address. I just called the long distant operator for the number and it was as simple as that. Remembering the name Zerbe from your post, I scanned through the tree, and found the name Elizabeth Kamerer Zerbe (Mr. Zerbe's great grandmother). Below I've put Mr. Zerbe's contact info, as found from that site. Perhaps this will help in your search for info about Emanuel or Elizabeth Madlum. As far as I know, neither cemetery has a website or e-addy. All records for Westlawn, Northlawn are held at the Northlawn office. They are very helpful and will give you information over the phone. You may have to call back for the information, but it usually takes no more than an hour. We at the Genealogy Division call them frequently. 2. Hello Everyone, Trying to locate a birth cert for both Ethel Mae GARWOOD born 2/12/1912, parents Mason Garwood and Charilla DeLong. Family says she was born in Hardin Co., but they have no record, neither did the health dept in Stark Co. (they were very busy the day I was there). Another family record says she was born in Williamstown (Billtown) that would be Hancock Co. and have not had a chance to contact their health dept. Her first born, Jack Edward Dauer, father John J. Dauer was born and died in 1932, can't pin the date down more than that. John and Ethel were possibly living in Canton when Jack was born, but he is buried in the Garwood plot in Greenlawn Cemetery in Ada. All their other kids were born in Canton. Stark Co. library couldn't find and entry that he was born or died there. He only lived about 6 mths. Any help is appreciated in pinning down these dates and locations. I am assuming that your ancestor died while serving in the war. SOmetimes the remains were shipped home, since decent embalming was available at that time. There are some cemeteries which have a cluster of Civil War graves; the headstones just give name & regiment. If he died in LA, though, especially in a warm month, chances are that he was buried there. ROLL OF HONOR lists all of the war dead interred in various National Cemeterieds in the country. It is a multi-volume set, so try to find it and check the vo9lume for LA> I found my gg grandfather in the NAshville Cemetery using this book. Good hunting.

I have not found anything in way of documentation, but I will keep on looking. Jacob & Margaret were the parents of my Duncan. Calvin was Duncan's younger brother. However, all but Calvin were farmers. Calvin was also listed a farmer before moving west. I am in the process of moving, and will not be on line much until around the end of March or the first of April. If you can send me your email, I will send you my present address, and my new address, if you want to send anything thru the mail instead of email. I have suspected Andrew being the Father of Jacob for a long time since Andrew is listed in Stark County in 1830, as is Jacob & Margaret, who was married in Stark County 1830. But, as you said...Andrew is elusive!!! Thanks for answering. Ann

    3. Currently, teachers are covered under a pension plan in the state of Ohio called State Teachers Retirement System STRS). I do not know how long it has been in existence or whether they would still retain or releaase any records on one of their former beneficiaries. They may have a webpage-- their equivalent PERS has one. If you know the school disctrict that she taught for, you could try writing them, but again, I do not knwo whether they would reatin records that long.
