Ed, I do have a Henry Bachtel in my family file, but I don't know his birthdate. His father was Joseph Bachtel, b. 1805 in Fredrick Co. MD, d. 1883 in Nevada. Henry's mother was Ann Moore. He married Ruth (last name unknown), who was born in Ohio. They had a large family, most of which I do not know the names. They had a son named Jeremiah, born 26 Dec 1946 in OH, who served in the Civil War. Jeremiah moved to Warsaw,Koscuisko County, Indiana and married Hester Tennant in Warsaw, Indiana. They had at least 3 children: Edward E. born 20 Jan 1876, Nettie Bell (Mattie) born 31 Jan 1880, and Bertha Ruth born 14 July 1888. Jeremiah made a living as a blacksmith. Jeremiah died 29 May 1903 and is buried in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion, Noble County, Indiana. If anyone has any information on this family, I would appreciate your assistance. I am more than happy to share what information, photos, etc. that I do have.
