Dear Cathy in Iowa, Massillon Public Library and the Stark County District Library of Canton should have this information or at least books or records they can check for you. Massillon Library has a CD of early marriages. www.Massillon.lib.oh.us Jean Adkins is the Genealogy expert there. I can not at this moment find the Stark County District Library but you should be able to Google it. They have a few good researchers there. Donna in Ohio
Hi, New to this list and in searching from the 1998-2001 messages I found a lot of mentions of the Daniel Brown./Braun family. Originally from Bedford county PA then to Stark county. in the early 1800`s. I believe my GGGGgrandfather David Brown is David Brown the son of Daniel and Elizabeth Houser. Does anyone have early marriage records for Stark county or KNOW who this David was married to? I know who my David was married to. Is there anyone out there who is still tracing this family? thanks, Cathy in Iowa
I would like to be in contact with Paone researchers. Can anyone tell me how to get a copy of his death certificate so I can find out who his parents were? See below. We always thought he died in Germany during the war and LDS shows Ronald PAONE - U.S. Social Security Death Index - died Caribbean Islands. Also, if anyone is researching this line, I would like to be in contact with you. Can you tell me (a new researcher) how to get started? Below is a list of the surname SOCIE's that I have found in Ohio, most in Stark but many in Fulton County also. In the 1870 census in the family of Francis Menegay there is a Adolphe SOCIE age 35 France and a Frances Socie age 23 France. Can anyone tell me if I missed any or got the dates wrong? Does anyone know who this Adolphe & Frances Socie is??? Suggestion... you might want to check with the Massillon Library. If there was an obit in the Massillon paper then they might have that indexed in their library. Stark County Library in Canton might have it also. Karen Is it more an old aged home than a poor house? My ggg uncle died there I believe in the about 1925 it was in an outlying township but I can't locate his death cert right now to confirm it. Hello List, Was there, or is there a cemetery in Alliance called "West Beach?" Could it now be called "St. Joseph Catholic in Alliance?" I'm looking for the correct cemetery location for a John Haidet and wife Mary Haidet. According to the Louisville Library on-line Obituary Index, John S. Haidet died 28 Mar 1930 and is buried at West Beach Alliance. I also would like to know if his wife Mary Haidet is listed with him and her birth and death dates. Thanks Pat

The index for Stark Co cemeteries is posted to Rootsweb at this URL: http://userdb.rootsweb.com/bookindexes/ Go to bottom and enter name - best to leave Book title block empty. I entered Harley Kramer - no record, then entered Harley Cramer and found him shown as being on page 25 of Volume 4. I happen to have that volume. Greenlawn - Uniontown Reformed Cemetery in Lake Township Harley Cramer - 1877-1926 There is no Sada Cramer with him. Also listed nearby: Abraham Cramer - 1847-1912 Amanda M Myers, w/o Abraham - 1845-1904 I then went to OHS [Ohio Historical Society] website: http://www.ohiohistory.org/dindex/ Found Harley Cramer - d 01 Jun 1926 in Stark Co. Certificate #41057 You can order copy of his death record from Stark Co District Library and ask them to check for an obituary for him to see if his wife was still living. The library has all Ohio counties death records on microfilm from 1908-1944 and perhaps later than 1944 by now. They are trying to get them thru 1954. There is a Sadie L Cramer listed - page 144 of Volume 4, Forest Hill Cemetery in Plain Twp Sadie L Cramer: 1886-1967 with John J Cramer: 1885-1944 Next to them: James R Cramer: 1918-1953 You might try using OHS Deaths [above] to see if you can find Harley's wife.
