HI - Thank you so much. Looks like I can probably rule out that they got married in Ohio. Marilyn Jacobs
It is suppose to cover all counties, at least the CDs are from 1789-1900. Hi - Thanks so much for checking on the Rousey marriage. Does your CD's cover all the counties in Ohio? I noticed there was set that covered just some of the counties. Thanks so much. Marilyn Jacobs
Thanks for your suggestion. However, the family in all of the records we have been able to locate, spelled the name Laubach. I think the name is misspelled on the indexes at Ancestry and that is why he cannot be found. I have already been to the national archives and searched the indexes for all major ports. There was no William Rousey in 1845 for marriages on the CDs. As I continue working on the question of my GILBERTs from Stark County, I wonder whether someone has the Perrin and/or Howe histories of Stark County and can look up the Gilbert family in those? I am descended from John Gilbert, b. abt. 1795 PA, d. 12/7/1863 Stark County, married Catharine Mathias. Have not traced back beyond him. There were also a Henry and a George GILBERT in Stark County in the early 1800s and I think these were his brothers....?? Who knows anything about this GILBERT family? Also, is the George Gilbert who married Eve Oberlin and d. in Mansfield, Holmes County, Ohio, the same or different from the one who lived in Stark County? The George in Stark County had a wife named Eve in the 1850 census...... Susan Osburn, daughter of John Gilbert Osburn
That is the right spelling I served under a General Laubach! carole lubbers <[email protected]> wrote: Thanks for your suggestion. Shirley, Thanks so much for the OSWALT/WAGGONER information. It will save time when I come home and can dig into papers and books at the library myself. It is really helpful. Regards, Jan Ask me about hypnotherapy or Reiki for pain relief, healing energy, spiritual emergency, past life regression

Per Stark County Cemetery Inscriptions, Volume III, published in 1983, there is an Armstrong Cemetery showing to be S25 on farm at 3750 Pigeon Run Rd. SW. [Back lane to farm, on hill behind buildings.] Tuscarawas Township. It has been transcribed and covers two pages. If you think this is the correct cemetery, email me privately and I will snail mail you a copy on behalf of the Stark Genealogical Society. I don't mean to intrude on Carole's assistance, but I happen to have Stark Co marriage book open and see your marriage. I have been searching a couple years for the marriages of Jacob OSWALT. There is a marriage of Jacob OSWALT to Catherine WAGGONER in Stark County, OH, early 1800s I believe. But, there are records of another Jacob OSWALT b. 1765 in Bedford County, PA m. to Catherine STOVER, also b. PA. Research and information from others show that Jacob OSWALT and Catherine migrated to Montgomery County, and Massillon, Stark County, OH in the early 1800s. Jacob OSWALT and Catherine, then migrated to Darke County, Ohio where they subsequently died, he 1833, she 1835, probably in cholera epidemic. These are my gggrandparents, but I have not been able to determine which Catherine - WAGGONER or STOVER - is the Catherine who died in Darke County. Also, I have been unable to determine if Joseph b. 1765, Bedford county, was twice married to Catherines, or if these are a father and son who each married the a Catherine's. Any help you can give me on Ohio marriages of any Jacob OSWALT would be helpful. Thanks so much for your kindness. Regards, Jan

Mercedes - You're welcome. The library will snail mail copies which will include an invoice. If you don't have actual full death dates, they will probably only be able to search for George's since they have index for all Ohio counties which includes 1945. Otherwise, you may have to write to the cemetery for burial dates. Using my membership to Ancestry.com which has Ohio Deaths 1958-2000, I found whom I believe to be Mabel Allen Lentz - 1884-1973. "Female" Lentz, d 24 Dec 1973 Out-of-State Aged 89, Widowed, Residence - Canton [Her age at time of death equates to born circa 1884.] I would suggest you give this full date to the library and ask them to search for obit. Please be patient with requests to the library - they get a tremendous amount of queries. For those of us who use the library, we are very fortunate. The library is one of the best in the country with an extremely knowledgeable staff who are very patient and who go the extra mile to help folks. Their collection is outstanding.
