Hello Jamie and other STOKEY researchers. Look for your line in Columbiana Co. There were several "STUCKEY" families there, particularly in Knox Twp. which borders Stark Co. Some of the old atlas books shows farms where they lived. I have a picture of one of the old barns. I will look for it and get back to you with the location. Sandy WEIR
There was an Earl Stuckey on Stark Probate who was 'committed.' http://www.probate.co.stark.oh.us/search/search.html The Stark County District Library has marriages from 1809-1986 with index to same 1807-1972 so you might ask them to check for Lois' marriage. I did not find a Lois under Stokey or Stuckey via the Stark Probate website. I assume you have the library's URL since you've already asked for his obituary. I found his WWI Draft Registration via Ancestry if you're a member. If not, let me know and I'll try to save and send to you. You might try this statewide obituary index: http://obit.obitlinkspage.com/oh.htm Or - http://www.obitcentral.com/ Shirley Houk In a message dated 9/26/2006 12:48:06 PM Eastern Standard Time, [email protected] writes: Hello, Anyone researching any Stokey family that lived in Canton? Lindsey, I just tried their newspaper link and there isn't an obit for him. Thank you for sending the 1910 census, I didn't have that. This guy is really hard to find an obit for. jamie

I am descended from one of these families - the other seems to have emigrated from France later on (though the two families might still be related). There is a lot of info. available on my Stuckey family. Willing to share - but suggest you tap into Stuckey resources online and you'll find a wealth of info. Susan Osburn (g-granddaughter of Elizabeth Stuckey of Stark County)
Have you tried contacting the Stark County PUblic Library and ask for his obit from 1980. You should be able to get information from there to start. I would appreciate any information about the parents or siblings of Heinrich SCHNEIDER (also known as Henry SNYDER). He appears in the 1840 census of Nimishillen Twp. as "Henry Schnuyder." He was b. abt. 1805 in Wuerttemberg, m. abt. 1833 (prob. in Stark Co.) Catharine (Feller) SCHAEFFER (many variant spellings, including Shaffer). Catharine, b. 1805 in Centre Co, Pennsylvania, was the dau. of Andrew (Andreas) and Mary (Maria) Feller. Catharine and her first husband had a son, John, who was b. abt 1827 in Pennsylvania. Among the children of Henry and Catharine Schneider: Andrew, abt 1835; Daniel, abt 1837, Israel, abt 1839; Henry, Jr., abt 1841; Charles, abt 1845. Sometime between 1844 and 1846, Henry & Catharine and family affiliated with Wilhelm Keil's Bethel Colony in Shelby Co., Missouri, where Catharine died before 1850. I welcome any information about any of these people, but especially the Schneider family. Vic Furnish
