Now don't forget that this town isn' t very big I think population is 700-900. Not sure of the current pop. I grew up here and my family is there and I just love the quaintness of it. But it is very very small town. No grocery store in town anymore. I go up every year in July and really enjoy the area. (Won't do the snow lol) **************It's Tax Time! When I found death certificates for a cousin and her husband, they both died within a year of each other. They lived in Magnolia. One of the Certificates had the county filled in as STARK County at the top and the other had CARROLL County filled in at the top. Both stated Magnolia Village. This was in 1934 and 1935. Can anyone advise which is correct? Thanks, Helen in Southern Ohio ____________________________________________________________________________________ Looking for last minute shopping deals? I've been stuck at George Washington Hanes for quite some time. What I have is that he was born 1.31.1814 (or 1.31.1820) in Stark County, Ohio. Family letters and such indicate his parents came from PA, most likely Lancaster County. His father spoke German and never learned English. George married Mary Ellen Davy in New Philadelphia, 9.10.1843. I am a direct descendent of that union. George and Mary had 8 children: The first born in Tuscarawas Co., Ohio, the next 4 in Owen Co., IN, the last 3 in Douglas Co., KS. George served in the Kansas militia during the Civil War, and therefore was eligible for admission to the Kansas State Soldiers Home at Fort Dodge, KS. He was admitted to the home 12.31.1903, and passed away 6.15.1904. I would be glad to share any of the information I have.
