Also a Gerald Lee Whittaker on page 23. You can email the Stark County District Library's Genealogy Dept for a look-up via the link I sent earlier for requesting a copy of the obituary. I assume you are referring to the Jay Whittaker who died 28 Mar 1933 in Canton. I also use the new LDS website and looked up his death certificate. 1. [OHSTARK] BATES - WISE Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Marguerite BATES and Barrett F. BATES which was taken at the Wells Studio in Odessa, Missouri. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with the two children appearing to be 4-6 years old at the time the photograph was taken. In addition to their names, someone has also written the name "Hurbert" on the back of the photograph as if that might be to whom the photograph was given. Based on limited research and thanks to the assistance of a BATES Family Researcher I have gathered the following information regarding this family: Marguerite Ellis BATES b. 1889 in Bates City, MO, married Joseph Blaine WISE Jr. on 12 Dec 1917 in Lexington, MO and died 17 Nov 1964 in Waynesburg, OH. Barrett Ferdinand BATES draft registration indicates his birth date as 30 Oct 1891. He later moved to WI and died in WI in Dec 1963. Census records for the family are as follows: 1900 census of Lexington, MO: George W. BATES, age 47, born May 1853, married 20 years, born MO, parents born Germany/TN, a Collector Gemima BATES, wife, age 44, born Nov 1855, married 20 years, 6 children/6 living, born MO, parents born VA/MO Theodore BATES, son, age 20, born Aug 1879, born MO, a Property County Collector Luise C. 2. dorothy boulware
    3. Sorry it has taken so long to answer. All I know is that my ancestor, John S. Hall, d 1824, in Le tart Falls, Meigs Co., OH. When I found out the middle initial, I highly suspected his mother could have been a Sayers because the Sayers were always close to the Halls. There was a Bill Sayers, a cousin, who knew the hills of W Virginia as well as the people. There is also an Evens, WV that has as many Sayers buried there as the Methodist Church in Le tart. Seems as though those how died during flooding times would have to be buried in different cemeteries than other family members. A lot of research has been done on the John and Sarah Hayhurst Hall. You could check Ancestry for the particulars. The halls were originally from Ireland, and my line lived in Western, PA. I will check my records if you think it will help you. Dorothy Joe Pufahl <Pufahl@pufahl.cnc.net> wrote: Hi Dorothy Yes it is possible the Sayers that lived around Pomeroy Ohio and my Sayers possible could be related.
