My Criswells moved from somewhere in PA. to Perry Co., OH. I had them mixed up with the ones in Stark Co. because of similar names ie. John, Robert etc.but was able to document mine finally. Here is a quote from my book published 2006, "It was interesting to note that another John Criswell died, circa 1825, Stark County, Ohio. Further research revealed a George Gregory was granted permission, 2 November 1825, to administer John's estate. the 'Alliance [Ohio]Genealogical Society Newsletter' had a copy of a Gregory Criswell's obituary. It stated his father had come from Maryland and settled in Stark County, circa 1814." Patt Fulton Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. However, in my Kandel research, she is listed as the daughter of Elizabeth Kandel in Elizabeth's obit and the sister of Bertha Bales Gibbons (Eliz's daughter) in Bertha's obit. My current hypothesis is that Ida was Elizabeth's biological daughter and that Eliz. may have given her for adoption to the Bordner's etc. Dates, etc. make sense. Does any of the Stark County researchers on this list have suggestions on how to confirm my hypothesis?? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My best guess is around 1903. Alma May Staggs, his first wife, was born in Middletown, Ohio, in 1910. Daniel and Alma married in Covington, Ky in August of 1924. Alma is my grandmother. Daniel left her in June of 1925 when she was 7 months pregnant with my father, Arlie Vaughn, who was born in Middletown, Ohio in August of 1925. I do not think that anyone is Daniel Vaughn's immediate family know that they are related to my father or our family at this time. There is much more to the story.
