    2. Bev, Does this record show any other children for R E and Nellie Harmony Sloan? Is there a daughter, s/b Mary Helen Sloan born abt 07/02/1904. Thank you for your help. Did you look for the spelling of SLONE, sometimes they wrote the name Sloan that way. Once I even saw it written as SLOWN ! Either way ......Thanks for looking. I have access to Ancestry.com if you need anything looked up....just ask me. Thanks again, Terri Sloan KY

    3. Terri - in 1904-1908, that was it for children born to Sloan. And yes, Marion was a male child to R. E. and Nellie. Thanks for your offer re Ancestry - I have access, but I appreciate your offer to do lookups. No other variations of the surname Sloan that I can spot, in this book. And no daughter, Helen Mary/Mary Helen. Just to finish up for you and you can pursue any as windows, if they seem to be: In the 1880-1890 Birth Records, there is 1) Emma L. Sloan, mother and Frank Coats, father who had <child> Walter Coats, 1 Mar 1885, Washington Twp.; m; w 2) and there is Oscar B. Sloan, b 30 July 1886, Washington tp.; m; w; ch/o <child of>D. L. Sloan and Sophrina West, Washington tp. In the 1890-1904 Birth Records, there is only 1) Sloan, Elsie Harmony, b 24 Mar 1899, Turtle Creek Twp.; f; w; ch/o <child of> R. E. Sloan and Nellie Harmony, Hardin A few of the above are buried in Shelby Co. cemeteries. I don't think any other birth books have been published by the SCGS, but am not positive - I live in CA. 3. I work one block from the Shelby County, Ohio, Health Department and one block from the Shelby County Courthouse. I can do limited look-ups (free) as my time permits. I go over on my lunch hour alot. If you will give me the name, approximate birth/death date or at least a range of years, I can at least check to let you know if there is a record. I can let you know what is on the record or if you want you can obtain a certified copy by writing to the health dept. Only certified copies are available from the health dept. and the cost is $15 each. For older birth records, I can check the records at the courthouse which is more time consuming but I am willing to do what I can as my time permits. Mary
