Records show a Shelby co birth of Henry A.Kruse to William and Elizabeth Poppe/Kruse. 10 oct 1878. Have been trying to locate any info on the William Kruse who played with the John Philip sousa band in 1927. Was married to Mildred Mitchell. He had a brother Paul and I think his father was named Paul also. All I have of him is a few old newspaper clippings and wonderful photos of him. Divorced when young from Mildred. She was born july 1 in 1897. Any help or suggestions on how to locate this family would be very appreciated.

Don't know your KRUSE, but I have a couple. Esther KRUSE b8/6/1832 Cape May, NJ; d3/28/1908 Turtle Creek Twp., Shelby Co., OH; m10/4/1855 Auglaize Co., OH John IKE b8/20/1817 Pickaway Co., OH; d7/22/1893 Hardin, Turtle Creek Twp., Shelby Co., OH. Both are buried in Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, OH. Esther's brother, Charles KRUSE served in the 99th Reg. OVI, from St. Mary's. He was captured and survived Andersonville Prison, but was killed in the explosion of the Sultana on the way home. I realize these dates don't jive with yours, but it may give you a place to start.
