I did not find Armitage, Ohio anywhere on my map, but I don't have a current large map, just a travel Rand-McNally map. Does anyone know about Armitage, Ohio and or the gentleman they are looking for as well as the Pendragon House and/or its history. You can email me the information or directly to Jessica. Thank you for any help you can give her. Kathleen Manley Subj: David Armitage of Armitage, OH Date: 12/5/2001 9:57:29 PM Pacific Standard Time From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent from the Internet (Details) Kathleen, I am doing research for a play that I am in which the playwright has given extensive information on a poet named David Armitage (1880-1957) and his family (which I would be glad to share). I need to verify this information first, however, as well as find out if the house that this playwright speaks of is still standing in Armitage, OH. It is called the Pendragon house and sounds like it is quite a spectacle, if it exists. I am simply having a difficult time finding any information about Armitage, OH, much less the man I am looking for. I know that his father's name was Matthew Armitage (1850-1921), whose father's name was Jacob Armitage (1800-1874), whose father's name was Robert Armitage (1780-1821), whose father, the original member of the family in Armitage, OH, was James Armitage (1744-1818) aka Christopher Rumpley (he came to OH from Boston). This family also had ties with the Rose family and the Pendragon family, also of Armitage. I have even more information, but, as I said, I hesitate to share it until it is verified. Also, David wrote a book of poems that I have been unable to find trace of : Messiah and Other Poems. If you could help me with ANY of this information, particularly about the house or the book, I would greatly appreciate it. We need to know if this man was real. Thank you for your time.
