    1. TAYLOR, WiLLIAM, OF SHELBY CO 1800'S
    2. Mark & Denise
    3. William Taylor bought land in Shelby Co. near Oran in 1831. He and his wife Ann Maria Doty had eleven children, so I know there must be cousins out there? The kids that married and had children were: Sarah Taylor "Carter" William G. Taylor, Perry Taylor, Eliza Ann Rose Alexander Taylor Jelley, James L. Taylor, Levina E. Taylor "Hughes", Rachel Taylor"Leighty", Zachary Taylor. William popped up quite a bit in one reference book or another, but I've never found a picture. Any information on this family? I have a lot to share. Smiles, Denise

    1. 1820 Census Question
    2. Mark Allen
    3. Surname: BODKIN/BOTKIN The 1820 census has six age categories for males, then six age categories for females, then a column for "foreigners not naturalized" then columns for persons engaged in agriculture, commerce and manufacture. I have a conflict with what I know verses the number listed "foreigners not naturalized". Does anyone know if this column was possibly used for another purpose? Taxable livestock, out buildings, etc?

He died in July 1900 . I do not know if his parents came to America. I have a picture of Sebastian in an album which belonged to my great grandparents who were Beemers and Stengels. My gr grandfather was John Michael Stengel, born in 1821/22 in the same town as Sebastian. John Michael came to America in 1844....and married Salone Schiff. several years later. ...I don't think Sebastian came to America at the same time. I am trying to find the connection between John Michael and Sebastian. I think he is buried in Pearl Cemetery.

    3. I got in on the obit scans after they started, so my question is: are the scans just for Shelby County or do they cover other counties? I have relatives in Shelby and I wondered if any of their names had been on the list, before I joined. Is there any wayI can find out? Thank You Jane Brandt

    3. Would someone who has marriage records for Shelby Co check for a Lulu L Apgar marriage probably between 1886/1900. Also looking for a John F Apgar b. 1861 and probably married late 1880. Found a Clarence L Apgar b. 5/20/1896 and Anna Apgar b. 9/19/1892, could be children of John F Apgar, maybe if someone could check birth records. I would really appreciate if anyone can do this for me. Thanks much Sue
