Marilyn: Thanks for the information about genealogy dot com . Morris LeFever
Hi all, Just had an unpleasant transaction with genealogy.com and wanted to pass it along if anyone is a subscriber. I got my credit card bill and saw that my subcription had been renewed for another year with no notification to or from me. When I called to have it cancelled and my account credited, I was told that according to the service agreement, I only had 5 days after the billing to cancel. Considering that my bill did not get processed until 15 days after this billing -- I was past the cancelation date. I have now cancelled for next year but cannot get my $99 refunded for this year. Seems like a scam to me -- don't notify people and then charge their credit cards knowing that it will take more than 5 days to reach them. Anyway, buyer beware. IF you have a subscription to this organization and if you are thinking of cancelling it -- DO IT NOW. You will be paid up till the end of your subscription but they won't be able to take advantage of you for another year -- like ! me. At least ancestry.com contacts you about subscribing for another year of service which is how you would think any reputable organization would be. Anyway, learn from my mistakes and take care all Marilyn
Looking for the parents of Newton Redinbo or Redinbaugh. He was born in 1871 or 1872, probably in Shelby County, OH. In the 1880 census he is 9 yrs old and is living with George and Sarah Hauver. Of course, there is no 1890 census. In 1900, he is listed as 28 yrs old, living with Margaret Carey and her son, Glick. Between the 1900 and 1910 census, he is married to Sadie Carey, daughter of John W. and Eliza Carey. In 1910 he is with wife, Sadie and a boarder, Leroy Campbell, in Sidney. Sadie died Sept. 11, 1937 in Newark, Licking County. Her obituary only says she was the wife of Newton Redinbo and daughter of John Carey. I assume they had no children. I also assume that Newton outlived Sadie? I know that Newton was the proprietor of a service station in Newark, Ohio How is Margaret and Glick Carey related to Sadie, if at all? Who was Newton's parents? When did Newton die?

Hi where did the Goddard name come from in Catherine's name? An early family member did research and has Catherine as a Hall, daughter of Peter L Hall of Shelby County, Ohio. Well I must eat crow.....I had a senior moment. Please dump my previous message below. I do not find anything on Moore in Deerfield Twp., Warren Co.. OH. The Jeremiah below was Jeremiah Morrow, early pioneer there who was elected governor of Ohio in 1822. Yes there are plenty of Moore in Frederick Co., MD. My ancestor bought land from an Arthur Moore in 1810 in what was then Aleghenny Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA (now Antis Twp., Blair Co.) Is anyone researching McClellan/ds in Shelby Co., and Hill or Winland? My great-great grandmother was Mary Frances McClellan/d. She was born on December 1, 1861 and died December 22, 1898. She was married to Andrew Harve Musser on March 24, 1884 in Auglaize County (next door to Shelby County). Unfortunately, I do not have any other information on her. She died when my great-grandmother was only 9 years old. If you can fit her into your McClellan/d information, I would love to hear from you. She is one of my brick walls. I would love to fill in her family's information in my family tree. Beth Lias Beavercreek, Ohio

In researching my McClellan/d family with connections in Shelby Co., I have found a 1856 birth (Bible record) for Rebecca Hill, Jackson Center, " in a log cabin near Sidney, Ohio." She was the 3rd child of James Hill and Josephine Winland, both of Hamilton County. This couple's (marr. Ham. Co. 1852) first 2 children, and last 8 children were all born in Hamilton County, and Rebecca was married in Hamilton Co. to F.P. McClelland. Why the Shelby Co. birth for Rebecca? I was researching Robert Warwick McClelland who married Mary Gertrude Cole, 1876 Shelby Co (Dau. Broad Cole) in Turtlecreek Twp. Their first child (Carey McClelland) was born in Hamilton Co., with the others born back in Shelby/Turtlecreek. During the years 1850-1890 were there other Shelby Co. families with "history" in both counties? Is this possibly due to the canal for transportation north and south or were there commercial ventures between the counties? Is anyone researching McClellan/ds in Shelby Co., and Hill or Winland?
