    3. I have found out in searching back in time from Iowa, through OH, PA to MD, for my Lefever family, they were married to or involved with "PA Dutch", who had drastic name changes; Two early (by 1819) Shelby pioneers were : White and Mathews. Originally White was the German meaning of Weis / Wiess, et (various versions). Mattay was changed to Mathews. Would like info on them. Will share

    3. Boy, I must be blinking every time I go through that area. Never even heard of Depew before. I don't remember anything except farmland and a few houses maybe that are less than 1/2 mile from each other. Yes, Holy Angels is the closest Catholic Church to that area now. In addition to the Masses listed before, there is now a Mass at 7 p.m. on Saturday evenings in Spanish. carol _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx

    2. I have a Thomas J. MIRANDA in my BOTKIN line. Wondering if you know how he fits into the MIRANDA line -- his obituary yields no clues. Thomas J. MIRANDA was born Abt. June 1847 in Ohio, and died January 6, 1930. He married (1) M. Lucinda MOCK January 02, 1870 in Clark County, Ohio, daughter of Samuel MOCK and Mary Ann BOTKIN. She was born Abt. January 1851 in Ohio, and died July 3, 1927. He married (2) Mary UNKNOWN in December 1929 "just a few days before becoming ill" (1/7/1930 Springfield obituary says he was ill for 3 weeks before succumbing to pneumonia). He was Justice of the Peace of New Carlisle (in Clark County, OH) for 25 years.

My sister Barb Gorney is now the president of the Besancon Historical Society. Her EM address is: [email protected] I think there are still some cemetery books left. The cost is about $20. Barb can tell you what information is at the archives on the Sousettes. I don't belong to the society anymore, so cannot help you much there. Sue

The George Sosatte and Eugenie (Monnier) you mentioned are my great grandparents. Marianne Soussotte, was Francis Soussotte's daugter. Francis Soussotte who died in 1867 was my great great grandfather who came to this country in 1840 from France. The Franciscum Sosotte who died in 1883 at age 56 was also one of my great grandfathers siblings. The Alexim Sosatte who died in 1882 was by grandfather George's brother. Grandfather is buried in Michigan. I would like to know the names of any of the others you found in the Church Cemetery, also there are various spelling for the name all though the records even the records in France. Today we spell it Sansote at least grandfather branch of the family does. Do you know where I might locate any of the records of these people so I could obtain copies also are there any pictures of the tomestones in your book and where would I be able to get a copy? Thanks for the information. Leila Sansote
