    3. Two of the names listed are ones I have run across researching my family lines. I am referring to Etta Rich and Freeman Rich. I have made a copy of your post (thank you very much for taking the time to type it online) and would ask that you contact me at my email address if you find anything further on the RICH surname in your family research. Please post any responses you get about a possible date or location (I do not live in Ohio). Hmmmm, also, I possibly have a connection through the Davis line. My mother gave me her old pictures and there are a lot of Davis folks in there that she said were cousins of hers. I just haven't figured out where they connected with the RICH family. Always looking for more family! Feel free to contact me at my email: [email protected] Karen ----- Original Message ----- From: "Roll`s" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, May 16, 2002 8:44 PM Subject: [OHSHELBY] Question - Lakewood Beach/Davis-Ralston Family Reunion > I have a copy of an old newspaper article that talks about the Davis-Ralston family reunion held at Lakewood Beach. I obtained the article from someone else and have not had an opportunity to verify where it came from or the date (somewhere between 1937 and 1943 based on some of the information about people I know in this article) Has anyone ever head of Lakewood Beach? 1. [OHSHELBY] Thompson vs Baxter, Dodds, Moore, Lefever
    2. Morris LeFever
    3. The first document I found for you folks asking about the above names is an abstract of Warren Chancery Records # 7 1839 - 1841: Page 235: John L. Thompson vs James Baxter - John L. Thompson purchased from heirs of Jacob Lefever dec'd - Matilda wife of Josephus Dodds ; Rebeca wife of Thomas Moore; Henry J & Elias Lefever. MY COMMENT FROM OTHER RECORDS: The above JACOB LEFEVER died abt 1834 in Deerfield, Shelby co. James Baxter married his dau Mary. Baxter was an important person and was involved in estate matters in Shelby and Warren. Rebecca and Matilda are dau of Jacob. Henry (Henry J.) and Elias are his sons. All these named vs Thompson are the ones who went from Warren Co. (mostly Deerfield Twp.) to Salem Twp. Shelby CO about 1838 (They applied for Salem Twp land however beginning in 1832) . Since this action is after that, it must relate to prior actions in Warren. Several more children of Jacob Lefever and wife Mary Pope JACKSON that did not go to Shelby are not named nor is Amassa Lefever w/o Nimrod Duvall of Salem Twp.as they married later. Henry J. Lefever above married Eleanor Morgan in 1837& Monfort? Elias married Ingersol Jacob (jr) married Belch; Nimrod D. married Tobias; Sarah married Coulson; Mary married Baxter. Their father Jacob Lefever was a brother to my John Lefever, Shelby Co. who married widow Margaret Stout and his son Solomon Lefever married sally (Sarah) Stout. Both marriages in 1829. John's dau married 1825 Reuben Jackson in Shelby Co.

I do not know the relationship between Isaac and Elizabeth, but the 1850 Shelby County, OH (Perry TWP) census record shows that he is 68 and she 48. Her daughter, Elizabeth Thompson, is shown as 18. Please keep me posted on anything you find on this line and I will do the same. charlie

Her husband, Archibald Thompson, died in 1834. She apparently moved in with Isaac, taking with her their youngest daughter, Elizabeth A. Thompson. I next found Elizabeth Stout in the 1870 Shelby County census next to her daughter, Elizabeth Thompson Winget and her husband Wm. J. Winget and his mother Nancy Winget. I find it very interesting that Elizabeth reverted to using her maiden name after the death of her husband. That seems to be most unusual in that era. Have you any clues as to why she might have done that? My research is most concerned with Archibald Thompson and his siblings. If you have any information on him, I would really appreciate a copy.
