I believe it used to be next to St. Mary's church in Tiffin, but was relocated to make room for the school that stands there now. The land for the original St. Mary's church & cemetery was purchased from Josiah Hedges by Bishop Fenwick in 1829. It was located at the east end of Madison St. where Calvert High School is now located, and was adjoining the old city cemetery where Little Hedges park now is located. (Schoenhart St. was not extend into Madison until about 1916) In the 1870's the old parish cemetery was completely full. In July of 1878 Father Michael Healy purchased the 5 acre site of the present cemetery from Michael Kuhn. I am not sure when the graves were moved from the old cemetery, but I believe it might have been during the early decades of the 1900's.
