    1. Myers/Whiteman
    2. I know that Nathan Myers and his family were in Seneca County from about 1845 until shortly after 1852, when my great-grandfather, Israel, was born. After leaving Seneca County, the Myers' moved to Allen County, Indiana. Was Allen County a popular destination? Israel married Catharine Whiteman in Allen County in 1872. My great-grandmother, Catharine Whiteman, was born in Adams Township, Seneca County March 9, 1851. Her parents were Benjamin and Catharine Whiteman. Her siblings were: Harriet Whiteman (married a Prantic or Prante -- lived in Aberdeen, Washington) Eliza Whiteman (married a Hartzel) Louisa Whiteman (married a Hartzel -- lived in Toledo, Ohio) Henry Whiteman (married Anna Heckman). He apparently lived in Clyde. I don't know anything at all about this Whiteman family. If anyone can help, I'd sure appreciate it! Karen

    3. Karen, I can't help w/ your families but I do know that the Allen Co., IN area WAS a popular destination. Most all of my OH families converged in that area : Jay, Adams, Randolph, Grant Cos., IN, w/ some straddling the state line in Mercer, Preble, Van Wert Cos., OH. If you look at a map of the old roads you'll see why, that's where the roads went! Cindy Cindy Torres Owens [email protected] http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/o/w/e/Cindy-L-Owens/index.html
