She was from Hancock Co, but no record there. Any > assistance appreciated. This email is being sent sent separately to genealogyfinder@msn.com. I could find no record of the marriage of Phillip Shuman and Sophronia George in our Marriages of Seneca County, Ohio, 1841-1899, by Jean Seigley. I did find a refence to their marriage, however, in Sandusky, Ohio. This was found in an IGI Individual Record from www.familysearch.org. Specifically: Philip R. Sherman m. Sophronia George 27 Feb 1873, Sandusky, Ohio. I found an obit for Frances (Hunt) Shuman in the R.B. Hayes Obituary Index. The web site is index.rbhayes.org. Details: Name: Frances E. Shuman Spouse: Carl F. Shuman Year of Death: 1994 Other name: Frances E. Hunt Published in: Advertiser Tribune Publication Date: 4/13/1994, Section A, Page 9. The obit can be obtain from the Tiffin Seneca Public Library for $2.50 per obit (see details on web site). This same R.B. Hayes Obit Index also lists obits for: Carl F. Shuman Philip Shuman Sophronia (George) Shuman I did not see obits listed for Garland Shuman and Walton Coe. Regards, Ken Shute (kwsroots@aol.com)

Mr. Thompson Milton b abt 1836 NY came to OH Edward b abt 1833 NY came to OH Albert b abt 1820 NY lived in MI in 1850 Mary Elizabeth b 1817, Dutchess Co., NY Lewis Leonard b 1813 NY came to Venice twp and then Norwalk, Huron OH by 1860 Lewis Leonard Gibson operated a hotel in Attica during the Civil War. His son, Lewis S. Gibson was murdered along with his daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Gove, in a robbery in his own home in 1918. In a letter to his children in 1860, Solomon writes of a Universalist Church under construction. (construction finished in 1862) Does anyone know where I can write or find the records for this church? Perhaps his funeral services took place there? Can anyone advise me where to begin my research? I have ordered the probate index and bible records from Senceca County Genealogy Society. Are there any books on families of the area that might be on Heritage Quest? Kind regards, Johnna
