As we all respect and honor our past generations, and their final resting places, it would be fitting I think if to express your outrage over the city of Portland, Maine's cemetery policy. While I do not have any ancestors there, it is appalling all the same as to what they are promoting. I hope that you pass this along to any genealogists or anyone who would like to know what it happening in the world. The city of Portland has promoted a local cemetery as a leash-free dog park...meaning the dogs can run, dig, and 'take care of business' all over the graves, headstones, and memorial flags. http://www.interment.net/column/commentary/20000624/western.htm
