My wife is a descendant of Ernest KIRIAN. We are trying to locate the ancestral village of Ernest KIRIAN in Westphalia, Germany. Our information is that Ernest wife's surname was SCHOCKMANN. Using current Germany white pages and responses from Germany genealogy mailing lists...........some clues putting KIRIAN and SCHOCKMANN surnames in common area bordered by Telgte, Warendorf, Sendenhorst and Beckum. This area is southeast of Munster. This may be useful to KIRIAN researchers. Again, this is just a clue. Nothing conclusive.
