    3. Knowing how difficult Smith must be, passing this along, as it turned up from my PML for Tiffin, Ohio. I have no other knowledge of this post. Source: [email protected] Subject: [SMITH] Family Bible I found a query on one of the query boards for Smith. I thought it might be my John Smith but after receiving this response it turned out to be another John Smith. Thought I would stick the reply out there and see if the anyone was interested. I will put you in touch with the lady I received the email from. Here is her reply: In the front of the Bible; "Presented to Mrs.. J.H. Smith by her husband ~ April 2, 1884" "Marriage" This certifies that John H. and Sarah J. Dove were united by me in the Holy bonds of matrimony at Bloomville, (no state given here! - I just assumed Ohio before! - maybe it is in Kentucky!) 21, February, 1867/ Martha Seits and Lewis (Jervis?) Seitz --- (yes Martha's name was spelled with an "s" at the end and Lewis's was spelled with a "z") -- Sis thought that it looked like "Lewis" instead of Jervis when I spoke with her this evening. "Births" Mary Ellen Smith - January 27, 1868 - Died March 12, 1869 - 1 yr. 1mo. 13 days of age Jola Belle Smith - October 20, 1869 - Died June 18, 1878 - 8 yrs. 8 mo. 28 days of age Elizzie Jane Smith - May 27, 1872 - (must have survived!) Jesse Grant Smith - April 2, 1874 - Died July 8, 1878 - 4 yrs. 3 mo. 6 days of age Nellie May Smith - Feb. 17, 1877 - Died April 3, 1879 - 2 yrs 1 mo. 17 days of age Eva Etta Smith - Feb. 27, 1880 - (must have survived!) "Memorandum" John Henry Smith born October 30, 1842 Sara Jane Smith born August (? 11th or 14th?) 184 (? 7 or 9?) Sis said some guy found this Bible in a house in Colorado - she is presuming it was in the Denver area - or up in the mountains north of Denver. He had brought the Bible into an antique shop and the dealer bought the Bible from the guy. She is in possession of the Bible, but it is not hers to sell. She lived with the antique dealer at one time (he lived with her) and when their relationship ended, he left several of his antique items and that was one of them. She has lost contact with him, but doesn't want to give the Bible up at this time as she feels it isn't hers to give away or sell.) There were two pictures in the Bible as well. The one picture is of a man, woman and a baby. on the back it says: "Taken Lizzie Smith, Bloomville, Ohio - put on her bowtie....?....??....." (can't read the rest) Tun_son and Son Photographers - Tiffin, Ohio (could be Tiffan - I don't know how it is spelled she just read it off to me over the phone) The other picture is of a lady - nothing is written on the back. It was also done by Tun?son and Son Photographers - Tiffin, Ohio. Good Luck, Jim Smith [email protected] ********************************** Jane
