FYI, this was sent on to me regarding Seitz and Bloom twp, please contact Karl directly for any further info. He wrote: Jane Irwin: A cousin of mine forwarded your recent posting to the Seneca County, Ohio, e-mail list concerning a family Bible. While I have no knowledge of the Smith and Dove families, the certification of marriage was made by a brother of my great-great grandfather and his second wife. Lewis Seitz Jr., born Oct 21, 1802, died July 12, 1890, was the son of a Baptist pastor and became one himself. He moved from Fairfield County, Ohio, to Bloom township, Seneca County, Ohio as a young adult with his first wife. Seneca County histories often refer to him as Elder Lewis Seitz. His second wife was Martha Mawk Hershberger, a widow. She was born about 1809 and died Sep. 22, 1883. I pass on this information so you can tell the lady that the Smith-Dove marriage definitely took place in Bloomville, Ohio. -- Karl Seitz > >-------------------- >X-Message: #1 >Date: Thu, 25 Jan 2001 08:17:02 -0500 >From: "Jane Irwin" <[email protected]> >To: [email protected] >Message-ID: <[email protected]> >Subject: SMITH/DOVE/SEITZ Bloomville/fwd another list >Content-Type: text/plain; > charset="iso-8859-1" >Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit > >Knowing how difficult Smith must be, passing this along, as it turned up >from my PML for Tiffin, Ohio.
