Thanks for looking. Appreciate your efforts. Dar
Dar, No burials for a Nancy Martin, d.1848, or an Isaac W. Martin are listed in the Seneca County inscription book.
Looking for the burial location for Nancy Martin, wife of Isaac W., mother of Andrew. She died in Seneca Co in 1848. If anyone has access to the various cemetery books, could you please check the indexes and see if she is there anywhere. In the 1850 census, her widower lived Big Springs township, so they may have lived there also in 1848 when Nancy died. Thanks to anyone who can look for her burial place. It might be possible that husband Isaac W. Martin is also with her as we've not found his grave either, though he spent most of his time in Muskingum Co. They both may have come to live with Andrew as they got older. We think Isaac W. died before 1839. Dar at dhackle@ix.netcom.com
I have been a subscriber for some time but this is the first time I have sought information regarding the ancestors of my maternal grandmother - Bertha C. Reichert. She was born in Bloomville in 1881 the daughter of Adam Reichert and Christian Fischer (Fisher). Little is known about the parents of Christian (mother) Fischer. She was born in Seneca County. Also I have no record of the birthplace or dates of three of her siblings as mentioned on the following list. Any assistance that I may receive regarding sources or data of the family while living in Seneca County will be most appreciated. Wally Tonstad Descendants of Adam Reichert Generation No. 1 1. Moses Henry and Enoch Henry both lived in the area in the 1820's - 1850's. Does anyone have any information on this family? Moses also purchased land in Hancock Co. in 1844. Any information on the Henry family that lived in this area will certainly be appreciated. I've been told that Enoch died there but do not know where he may be buried.
This response is being sent concurrently to the OHSENECA mail list and to dzellers@lrnet1.com, the requestor. For dzellers@lrnet1.com. I was unable to find any burial information on Martin Zellers in our Seneca County, OH publications (including our Seneca County, Ohio Cemetry Inscriptions book), or on the internet, but I did find some references that appear to relate to your Martin Zellers and family which might be helpful. If valid, it would appear that: a. Martin Zellers was living in Tiffin Township, Seneca County, Ohio as early as 1860. b. In 1870, Martin, his wife Susan, and their three children, William, Samuel, and Cora B., were residing in Tiffin Ward 1, Seneca County, Ohio. c. On 15 Aug 1879, daughter Cora Belle Zeller(s) married John O. Plank in Genesee County, Michigan. d. On 29 Jun 1880, son Samuel R. Zeller(s) married Emily R. Peck in Genesee County, Michigan. e. In the 1880 Census for 2nd Ward, Flint, Genesee, Michigan, taken 1 June 1880, Emily Peck is seen as a single person living in the household of a William H. C. Lyon. f. I was "surfing" the web and found this website. it has a place to enter and/or search for Ohio Marriages and Deaths. Seneca County has some listings there. all information listed is data donated by visitors like you and me. I think it is a neat idea. Their copyright date is 2000 so it has been there a while, but I never knew about it. If you post information your name and email is listed as a source. This could mean possible future contact from relatives searching their database. Very easy to maneuver within site too! their address is: http://bmdproject.rootsweb.com/ from there yu click on "search records" or even better "post an entry" Do you have Obituaries, death certificates, marriage records laying around to post there? You could help out others by posting! Well I better get off my soapbox before someone pushes me! Hope this helps someone!
