    1. [OHSENECA] Fostoria Fountain Cemetery office
    2. 419-435-3113 is there office phone number. They used to have a secretary, they do not now. So I do not know when anyone is in the office. You might have to call until you find someone in. I do not know if they have an answering machine or not. It might not be a problem at all. I live in Fostoria, so if I can be of further help, let me know. A Tip: Go to Google.Com search engine and enter name city state and click.......many times at the top (study it, does not stand out) you will get it back with address and phone number. (Did not work for this listing). ALSO........enter a phone number with area code first and click.....you will get the name, address and phone number. A reverse phone directory. I know above does not work for unpublished numbers and I imagine you might have to have it as listed, like some use initials, like: R. L. Smith or Roy L. Smith. This makes a difference in some cases. Saves from calling phone company and they charge, for phone numbers. Or when sending out Christmas cards (what is that house number?) etc. Susan of Fostoria

    3. What I do is to call a funeral home in the city and ask them for a number to call for that cemetery. They usually know as they help to arrange burials. I just go to the online yellowpages and look up the city I am interested in and then enter the category funeral homes. Hope this helps! 1. [OHSENECA] updated Seneca cemetery site
    2. (Redirected by "DC & Alice Allen" <dcaallen@pacifier.com>) An "FYI" for those interested in Seneca Co. cemeteries. Also an opportunity to say a great big "thank you" to Kristina and all those who help her with this project. This is a lot of hard work, and I for one appreciate the time she and her volunteers take to get this information online for those of us with Seneca Co. roots. Classification: Cemetery Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BYB.2ACE/398 Message Board Post: Hello everyone, I spent just over 21 hours this week updating the Seneca County cemetery website. Here is what is new there: Mike Stiger has submitted more photos for Sections 1-3 of Duke's Pleasant Union cemetery, bringing his total to over 1,665 photos submitted to me for that graveyard. I have uploaded them and created links to all within the listing. Darlene Clinger and Carolyn Reinbolt submitted updates/corrections for St. Nicholas cemetery listing. Those have all been put on the site. Linda Hickman had a birthday and received a new digital camera, thus she has began again to try to finish up on Pleasant Ridge cemetery submitting 180 new photos this week. She has sent me 1,132 photos for that place to date. Lots of additional info in the listing as seen on the photos! All added and uploaded. Pam Kershner has submitted yet another spread sheet with the 1,315 names of burial in Sections 64-65 in Greenlawn. I created another six pages for the site to accomodate all of them. This brings Pam's total to 11, 033 names she has typed in for Greenlawn. A dedicated helper! Mike Stiger decided to stop into Clagett cemetery (on his way to Duke's) one day and do that whole place since it is small. The markers there are all so old and worn, but Mike did a great job and his photos are very good! He has had a lot of practice with his daily work at Duke's each clear day this past summer! All photos uploaded and linked for there, too. I still have more here to work on, but wanted to keep yu in touch in case yu had not visited in a while. There are still cemeteries that need put into spreadsheets for the site. If you have MS Excel and would like to help out write to me, please. You can find links to my cemetery sites at: http://kriskuhn.net/links_cemetery.htm or go directly to the Seneca page at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ohio/seneca/list.htm Don't forget there is a search engine there near the top of the main page. click on the "pico search" and it will open a search page for my site where you can enter the surname you are lookin' for. 1. [OHSENECA] Alice Seiple
    2. Debbie Arnold
    3. Does anyone know Alice Seiple of Bloomville? She would be in her early 90's if still living. She was last listed in the Seneca County phone book in 1985, but the Social Security index does not have an entry for her, nor does the Hayes obit index. Her husband was Virgil, her mother was Bertha Geneva Gifford Stanton Stewart (husbands: Edward Stanton, Emmet Stewart), her grandparents were George and Mary Gross Gifford of Bloomville (George died in early 1930's) Alice had siblings Clifford, Birney and Mrs. Lela Hammond. Alice might have children still in the Bloomville area. Unknown as to who they are. Can anyone help me? We are the descendants of George's brother, Sam and are looking for Sam's daughters (Emma, Ruth, Genetta, Phoebe Elizabeth, Annie). Debbie Arnold of Clyde and Jean Katzenmeyer of Tiffin

From the letters that I have from my grandfather to his fiancee, who became my grandmother, there were several from the Seneca County area. As for where in France that is a toughy. The mail from overseas soldiers was censored so much that it was very hard for anyone to know where they were. The soldiers could not actually say where they were at any given time. I am going to go back and read these letters again and see if there is some hint or something. This is very interesting, isn't it? You mentioned that you have photographs including some with ambulances. How wonderful! I wish I could see them. I really do not have too many photos of that time, just the letters to my grandmother.
