Dear Seneca Co. Listers, Does any one know of LEY family? What I have is this: He married Agnes Pecher 17 November 1864 in Tiffen, Senceca Co., OH. She was born 1 December 1843 in Tiffen and died 6 December 1926 in Defiance, Defiance Co., OH. Would appreciate any help any one can give me. Bev Rogers
There is a Seitz bio submitted by Leroy Reed on p. 369 of the Seneca Co. OH, History & Families, Compiled by the Seneca Co. Genealogical Soc. in 1998.
Hi Caral, I've been to the church you are talking about. It is located 3 miles east of Melmore, Ohio in Seneca County at county roads 6 & 43. You might write to this lady, who is the clerk of the church & maybe she has the answers to your questions. Her name is ; Mrs. Brenda Shaver 4623 State Route 547 Monroeville, Ohio 44847-9769 The cemetery is located right next to the church. I believe the Seitz family was also in Fairfield Co. Ohio. Could have been another family. A Lewis Seitz helped at another Baptist church in Hancock Co. Ohio. I hope this helps some. Jo Ann
Pleasant View Cemetery, Old School Primitive Baptist Cemetery, & Honey Creek Baptist Cemetery are all names of the same place. It is the same place that is listed in the Seneca County Cemetery book. As far as I have been able to tell, their church records have never been published, although they are still an active congregation. I also know that there are a number of unmarked graves there. Dear Caral, I tried to find your SEITZs, but could not find any Honey Creek Baptist Church and Cemetery listed in the Seneca County, Ohio Cemetery Inscriptions book. There are two John SEITZs in the book, but both are buried in Pleasant View Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Bloom Township. They are John, who served in the Civil War and who lived from Oct. 28, 1790 to Sept. 21, 1874 and another John who lived 1829-1915. If either of these are the John you are interested in, let me know and I'll try to send data on all the SEITZs in this cemetery. There are quite a few of them. I can't send you data on all the SEITZs in the Seneca County, Ohio Cemetery Inscriptions book because there are 102 of them listed in the index! Greetings, All, Let me try again -- I'm looking for records fromt he Honey Creek Baptist Church and Cemetery. The previous message, giving information on John SEITZ being buried there, is an indecation that others from the SEITZ family were also involved with the church, and probably buried there. The info on John SEITZ is from my "bits and pieces" - pieced together from family records, a SEITZ history of early 1920s, etc. I'd like to exchange data and even pictures of the tombstone would be nice, with others interested in the SEITZ family and/or this church. Thank you, Caral MECHLING BENNETT

Hi, Check with the Hancock Co. Genealogy Society located at Findlay, Ohio. They work out of the Findlay Public Library located in Findlay Ohio. They have lots of information.
I am not a regular to this list. So maybe this has been said before. The library in Fostoria has all the names for those buried in Fountain Cem. in alphabatised index cards. Also listed are those who had obits in the local newspapers. I do not know if they do lookups. Rebecca
Patricia: I'd be most interested to know when you are going to Fostoria again also. I've plenty of family buried in Fountain Cemetery. Thanks, Roger Cole [email protected] > Sorry, Dawnette. Is there anyone out there with access to Fountain and Fostoria Cemetery records who would be willing to do a handfull of look-ups for me? ~Dawnette Thompson, CA
Dear Dawnette, I don't know if anyone has answered your query because they may have e-mailed you directly. If no one has, here is what I find in "Seneca County, Ohio Cemetery Inscriptions" by The Seneca County Genealogical Society, 1987: There are no HOLLOPETERs or any variation of this spelling begining with HOL_ _ in the book. Sorry.
