Hi group, I am not searching for family. Mine came from Hamilton Co. I am, however, researching a gunmaker by the name of Henry ELWELL. In an antique gun book he was listed in Seneca Co. OH in 1810-1812. Now I know that Seneca Co. was not established until 1820. Any explanation? Any more info on this man? Archived news or the like? Any help would be appreciated, Ken ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! Juno now offers FREE Internet Access! 1841 is the oldest surviving records, as there was a fire in that year that destroyed many records. Before that time, you would have to search in the records of each individual church. Hello Alice, Do you have a SPICER in your 1841-1843 marriages? Also, is this the earliest recorded Seneca County marriages? Thanks, Kathryn
Seneca county marriages were extracted by LDS and put in their IGI years ago. I found all my marriages listed there for the late 1840s to 1850s. check out http://www.familysearch.org/ Ruth Brill wrote: > Marilyn, > > There is no Merchant/Crawford marriage in MARRIAGES OF SENECA > COUNTY, OHIO 1841-1899. I transcribed 1841-1843 Seneca Co. marriages a couple of years ago--one of these days I'll get them on the Seneca Co. web page. Couldn't find a marriage for Catherine & Edward, but there was one for John Merchant & Rachel Edwards, listed below: John Merchant married Rachel Edwards 13 June 1841 by Lorenzo Abbott, JP. Vince, I have a lot of info on the Droll family in my gedcom at rootsweb. But there are many blanks as far as bringing it to the present beyond 1980's. The "Droll Book" I have was printed in 1988. I have been entering the data from the book and updating the gedcom there at rootsweb almost daily. I am still entering and am now up to page 147 of 199. Keep an eye on the date of upload located at the top of the page there. I will be leaving for vaction tomorrow, but upon my return next Monday I will resume the data entry. Would you look and see if you have anything to update my files? http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=msscarlet -Kris Kuhn Columbus, OH Homepage: http://genweb.net/~kuhn_family/home.shtml member of IMMIGRANT SHIP TRANSCRIBERS GUILD located at: http://istg.rootsweb.com/ _______________________________________________________ Say Bye to Slow Internet! http://www.home.com/xinbox/signup.html
