    1. Stinchcombs in Seneca County
    2. John S. Stinchcomb
    3. Hi All; I'm seeking any and all info I can find out about the Stinchcombs in Seneca County. George Stinchcomb Sr., Mary, his wife, James Stinchcomb and his wife Pricilla Weddle, and John Stinchcomb and his wife Barbara Turflinger and their families. I do have some info from a kind person in Seneca County, but it's left me wanting more. I'm trying to connect the Gittinger Family to my Stinchcombs, but I only have John and Barbara Stinchcomb's children with nothing else to connect to. I live in Florida, and can't make the trip up til Spring to research in Seneca County. I'm currently working on OHIO BRANCH STINCHCOMBS, and hopefully in a year or two, have something for printing. I am very grateful for information, and I do list the researcher. Thank You. John S. Stinchcomb [email protected] and [email protected]

Does anyone have the Seneca Inscription book that can look him up for me? I could use info an anyone with the surname Briner. Thanks Timothy J. This is for the Hopewell Twp. 1850 census, pg. 294a. The name is John Briner, with wife Mary. I need to confirm that the actual census document lists his age as 61 and not possibly 71. It would mean a great deal in trying to link him with known Johns. Thanks Tim >> Hi Tim, In our Original Land Entries of Seneca County, Ohio, by Brill, Sackett & Holscher, 1992, there are two references to a John BRINER in Hopewell Township. They are: John BRINER, w. 1/2 n.w. 1/4 sect. 28, Oct 20, 1830, and John BRINER, e. 1/2 n.e. 1/4 sect. 29, April 13, 1832. You may have this already, but I send it along for what it's worth. Regards, Ken Shute, in MD ([email protected]).

    1. Re: 1850 census verification
    2. Tim: Be careful in ruling out a possible ancestor because of age or even exact name, as often the census info was given by a neighbor, who might have been home when the actual census ancestor wasn't. This was a common practice with census takers, they traveled far and wide, and couldn't make easy return trips. Carol

    3. Alice, since I don't have the names of the children of George and Mary Kline, I can't confirm that Paul and Lydia would be a connection. But htanks for the marriage date. I'll record it and save the information in case a Paul does prove to be a son of George and Mary and let you know. My line is Mary's, so I'm not really certain about George's ancestry. Thanks for contacting. Dar

    3. Double checked my files and I have a Paul Kline marriage to Lydia Rinebolt 28 Oct 1846 in Seneca County. I don't have parents for Paul, but as Lydia's parents I have as Abraham Rinebolt & Susanna Hampshire. Abraham was my 3 gg grandfather's (Daniel Rinebolt) brother, so I haven't researched that line.
