    3. I have a few Clark's in my file but know very little about them. A Jesse Clark born 1819 married Charlotte Decker bor dec 1821 in NY. They moved to Seneca Co., and had three children that I know of: Martha Clark who married Thomas Kirkwood, Morgan Clark, b 1850 who married Caroline Ritz and a Annabelle Clark who married Jesse Van Lieu. Most of these people are buried in Seneca Co. I also hava an Alcena Clark who married Levi Fisher. He was born Sep 1859. I have no idea if any of these people are related to your Clarks. 3. Carol and all listers, Yes, there were a lot of Ohio people who came to the lower Michigan area in the 1830's and on. I have books for Branch County, MI. if anyone needs a look up. Please be patient and I'll try to respond to all. Location of Branch County, Michigan is 1/2 way between Detroit and Chicago, along the Indiana/Ohio boarder. Mary Bickford, in Tx. 3. Kris your maps are very interesting. Know this is not your line but if you run across these people who came from Seneca County in to Michigan please let me know. They were John Hoover who married Maria Spears. Maria's father was Barney Spears and I believe they were from Reedtown. This is my dead end. 3. Hello all, Well the www.genweb.net site has been down now for three days. I have written to them but no responses. Consequently none of my websites are accessable that start with "www.genweb.net..." I have aquired new space at rootsweb and have uploaded all my HTML to that site, BUT there are many broken links in the pages. It will take me a while to get it all straightened out. The KUHN new homepage address is listed below in my signature line. And the SENECA township maps will now be located from: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ohio/seneca.shtml That page opens OK, but getting the actual maps is NOT happening just now. <sigh> I shall work on it more this evening after work. I do not know if genweb.net is gone for good or what. Has anyone heard anything about that? 3. Dear Timothy, I don't recall seeing a reply to your query on the county list, so will answer it. There are only two John BRINERs in the cemetery inscription book and according to the dates, neither is the one you are looking for: Reformed Church Cemetery, Bloom Twp. p.92: Row 7 (starting on south end) 1. BRINER, Nettie, d/o M. & L., d. Aug. 31, 1877 2y 3m 9d 2. Sophia, w/o John, d. Dec. 18, 1882 82y 1m 15d John, d. Aug. 29, 1877 82y 6m Attica Venice Cemetery, Venice Twp. p.631: Section E - Row 2 1. BRINER, John, 1869-1945 2. Henry, d. Aug. 26, 1904 68y 5m 21d GAR 1861-1865 (OSSW) Lucinda, d. June 21, 1903 64y 2m 3d 3. Charles, 1871-1928 (OSSW) Artie, 1873-1939 As to data on any BRINERs in the book, you would have to be more specific as there are 20 of them and none are buried in Hopewell Twp. 3. Posted on: Seneca Co. Oh Biographies Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/SenecaBios/7 Surname: WEHR, WARE, SCHOCK, GRASLEY ------------------------- Philip Wehr 1790-1867 (probably born in Heidelberg Twp, Leghig Co. PA), the probable father of the Lucy Ann Wehr mentioned in the biography of George Schock, is listed in the Lehigh County PA censuses of 1820 (Wehr), 1830 (Wiare), 1840 (Wehr). In 1850 and 1860, the Wehr family is listed in OH census for Thompson Twp., Seneca County. Evidence suggests that Philip Wehr had a grandchild named Israel Ware born in West Lodi 5-15-1843 so the family could have been in Seneca County as early as 1843. Most of the Philip Ware family, except for some women who married, left for St. Joseph County Michigan in March 1861. If you have any corrections or further information, please contact me.

    3. Posted on: Seneca Co. Oh Biographies Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/SenecaBios/5 Surname: SCHOCK, WEHR, WARE ------------------------- George Schock George Schock, son of John and Elizabeth Schock, was born in Washington township, Union county, Pennsylvania, December 17, 1819. He remained under the paternal roof until 1840, when he removed with his parents to Thompson township, Seneca county, Ohio, where he worked first for his father at one hundred and fifteen dollars a year. He learned the carpenter and joiner trade, at which he worked for about three years On the 20th day of September 1945, he married Lucy Ann Wehr, a native of Lehigh county, Pennsylvania. They reared a family of nine children, namely: Benjamin F., born January 10, 1847. John, born September 25, 1849. Joel, born October 29, 1851. Polly, born October 28, 1853. Eli, born May 14, 1856. Sarah, born June 10, 1858. Hetty A., born March 7, 1861 Lydia A., born July 2, 1863; and Emma A., born November 13, 1867. Mr. Schock has been mostly engaged in farming, although he has devoted a considerable portion of his time to the manufacture of sorghum, and to the raising of poultry. In 1871 he removed to Michigan and purchased his present fine farm of one hundred and sixty acres in Lockport township, which he keeps in an excellent state of cultivation in addition to attending his other business. He is at present, treasurer of Grange No. 178, and also treasurer of Pomona Grange, No. 4, of St. Joseph county. In politics he is a Republican, thought he has recently affiliated with the Greenback party. In religion, he is a member of the German Reformed Church. For a late settler in his township no man enjoys more the confidence and esteem of the people than does he of whom we write. A view of his residence and buildings can be seen elsewhere in this work.
