    1. Re: Sarah BLAIR
    2. For Steve Lokker. Hi Steve, The online IGI site (www.familysearch.org) offers a possible re-marriage for your Sarah BLAIR, namely: Sarah BLAIR, b. 11 Jul 1800 in Hope, Warren, NJ. She m. Thomas SWANDER 25 Aug 1827 in Hope, Warren, NJ. Sarah d. Sep 1878 in Seneca, OH. Thomas SWANDER was b. 2 Dec 1805 in Lehigh, PA. He d. 4 Jan 1879 in Seneca, OH. His parents were John SWANDER and Elizabeth GLICK. John was b. 19 Jun 1776 in Lehigh, PA and d. Jun 1859 in Seneca, OH. He m. Elizabeth in 1800 in Lehigh, PA. Elizabeth Glick was b. ca 1780 in Lehigh, PA. The IGI list also shows one child, Thomas C. SWANDER, b. 13 Dec1844 in Clinton, Seneca, OH to Thomas and Sarah. Thomas C. d. 23 Feb 1845. Assuming this Sarah BLAIR might be your Sarah BLAIR, I found the following in some of our Seneca County, OH publications that relates to a Thomas SWANDER and a SARAH BLAIR SWANDER: 1. Seneca County, OH Cemetery Inscriptions, by the Seneca County Genealogical Society (SCGS), 1987. Greenlawn Cemetery, Clinton Twp. Page 195, Row 13. Thomas SWANDER, Dec.1, 1805-Jan 4, 1879 73y 1m 3d. MIOS. Sarah, July 11, 1800-Sept.5, 1878. Elizabeth, 1829-1904. Mary Ann LESTER, d/o T. & S. SWANDER, w/o A. I., Mar. 4, 1853 22y 8d. (Other SWANDERs buried nearby). 2. 1870 Census Index, Seneca County, Ohio, by SCGS, 1999. The following SWANDERs are found on Census Page 83, Household 212, for Clinton Twp, Seneca County, OH.: Thomas (head of household). Sarah Elizabeth Mary Scott. 3. History of Seneca County, Ohio by Warner & Beers 1886. Page 275. In the State elections for 1861, Thomas SWANDER was listed as the Democratic candidate for the office of Infirmary Director. Page 276. "The county officers elected in 1864 were all Democrats, viz:...........Thomas SWANDER and George S. Christlip, infirmary directors........" Page 467. Section on Clinton Twp. "....Thomas SWANDER died January 4, 1879 aged 73 years..." Page 522. Clinton Building and Loan Association was organized May 5, 1874 with E.H. SWANDER, John H. Foulk, W.T. Knouse, Edward Knouse and Thomas SWANDER, members. 4. History of Seneca County, Ohio, by W. Lang 1880. (Pages 517-520 contain a history of "The SWANDER Family" (mainly the antecedents of Thomas SWANDER.) Hope this SWANDER connection is the right one for your Sarah BLAIR. Regards, Ken Shute
