    3. I'm seeking information on two families of Seneca Co., Ohio; the Schreiner's (spelled various ways) and Theiry. Michael Schreiner was born in 1832. He died in Seneca Co. in 1911. This wife's name was Mary, last name possibly Cobi/Koby. The 1880 census stated they were from Elsos, Germany. Their 11 children I have so far are: Jacob, Peter, Adaline, Rosa, Philomea?, Martin, Elizabeth, Catherine, Louisa, Agatha and Ferris. Regarding the family of Theodor Theiry (1835-1915) and his wife Margaret (1845-1914). The census related they were born in Lutzenberg and Bavaria respectively. I'm sure there are more but the 6 children I have for them so far are Anna, John, Susan, Elizabeth, Theodor and Theresa. 2. I went a genealogy society meeting tonight and got info on a new FREE Internet site. The address is: fotocode.com It is only for black and white photos taken before 1910. The reason for this cutoff date is that is the year that Kodak came out with a cheap camera and people started taking their own pics instead of going to a studio where they could get many pics for very little money and could hand them out to friends and family You answer a bunch of questions about the photo and it goes into their data bank. When someone else gives the same description they pull up the pics and compare them. If they have a match they tell the two senders. The reason for this is there a lot of photos without any names on them. If we both had the same pic with 4 people and we each only knew the name for two of them we would then have the names for all four. this outfit is just starting so there is not a lot pics in the system yet. I am going to do a lot of my pics. It's FREE FREE!!! They will NOT run banner ads, and will not use the pic's for anything but the purpose I just discribed. Aloha Joe

He was always known as Edward Harrison, but the 1870 Ohio Census shows him listed as Eugene Harrison. Mother is Margaret Watchier Harrison; father is John S. Harrison. I believe he was born in 1867 or so. Birth certificates would have been available then, but the Probate Court cannot find any birth certificate for him. The family never knew what happened to him. There is an E.E. Harrison buried in the family plot, and I suspect it's he. Possibly Edward Eugene or Eugene Edward. No dates available. If it's he, then it doesn't look like he ever married because there are no other Harrisons there, other than his mother. His father, John S., supposedly abandoned the family at some point and was never heard from again. I'd like to look for him, but I don't know where or how. Any help you can give me would be appreciated. Thanx! Jane S. >> Hi Jane, I checked our Seneca County, Ohio Marriages, 1841-1899, by Seigley, for Edward/Eugene, Austin and Minnie HARRISON without success. They also did not appear in our other Seneca County publications except for what I sent you earlier. This is a real stretch, but I did find some HARRISONs with these same names in three adjoining Ohio counties not far from Seneca County. They may not be yours, but here they are: From Ancestry.Com: The 1889-1890 and 1890-1891 Directories for Toledo (Lucas County) Ohio lists a Eugene E. HARRISON at 125 Superior (Street?) with the occupation of "fish" (fisherman?). Ancestry.Com also lists the marriage of an Edward E. HARRISON and an Emma LEIBERMANN on 30 Oct 1887 in Ottawa County, Ohio. This same marriage can also be found in the online IGI web site www.familysearch.org. Finally, the online IGI web site lists the marriage of an Austin K. HARRISON to a Sarah C. HULL on 29 Dec 1875 in Wood County, Ohio. Regards, Ken Shute

    1. ALBERT T PEABODY
    2. HI KEN THIS IS PATTY I to have found Dora in 1870,1880,1910,1920 seneca county census. Did you notice she or Albert are not in the 1900 census.Do you suppose they moved to the place Albert is from?Could Albert have gotten sick and died and been buried near his parents? Or could Albert be a traveling salesman? I am at a loss as where to start looking for Albert.I have trace Dora's family back quite far-but have gotten nowhere with Albert. Is there by any chance a marriage license that was filed by Dora and Albert that lists the names of the parents? That is how I found Alberts name from Harrys marriage license Any info is deeply appreciated. THANKS PATTY

    1. PEABODY
    2. For Patty Rogers. Hi Patty, Regarding the whereabouts of Albert T. PEABODY: apart from a reference to his marriage to Victoria (Dora) SNYDER on 1 Jan 1877 in our Marriages of Seneca County, Ohio by Seigley, I could find no further references to him in any of our other Seneca County, Ohio publications. In the Remarks section of this marriage entry it states: "Please don't publish." The Marriage Book indicates that the phrase "do not publish" was added to some marriage licenses so that the newspaper of the period would not publish it. Reasons given were that some couples wanted to surprise their family and friends; others may have been married before and did not want this publicized; and others may not have been sure they were going ahead with the marriage. Have you looked into Lorain County, Ohio as a possible ancestral home for Albert T.? There seems to have been a number of PEABODYs living there according to our Index to the Census of 1870 for Lorain County, Ohio---sixteen PEABODYs in all (but no Albert T. at that time). Unforunately, this is the only publication for Lorain County that we hold. Also, the search engine for PEABODY on the Lorain County, OH home page (www.centurytel.net/lorgen/) yields 18 links with references to the surname PEABODY, with each link often showing three or four different PEABODYs. These links include some which give cemetery inscriptions, queries concerning the PEABODY name, and first families of Lorain County.. One link, an Index to the Lorain County Cemetery, showed PEABODY inscriptions on 17 different pages. I made a quick pass through these links without finding Albert T., but it might be worth a more exhaustive search. Following are some references to Victoria (Dora) SNYDER which you may or may not already have: In our 1870 Census Index for Seneca County, Ohio (Tiffin Ward 1) we see Victoria and her family on Census Page 348, household # 570: Simon, head of household Rebecca Hiram Lewis Howard Victoria Rodney Christopher Emma Frank. In the Ohio 1910 Census Index (from Ancestry.com) Dora PEABODY, age 55, is listed for Tiffin, Seneca County as the head of household with sister Emma E. SNYDER, age 43, and son Charles PEABODY, age 31, as other residents. In the Ohio Death Certificate Index, Dora PEABODY is listed for Seneca County, Ohio, with date of death as 8/26/1930 (Vol. # 6386, Certificate # 50624). Finally, in the Ohio 1910 Census Index (from Ancestry.com), Harry PEABODY, age 28, is listed as head of household in Tiffin, Seneca County, with other residents of wife Maude, age 28; daughter Geneva, age 03; and daughter Gertrude, NR. Good luck on your quest for the elusive Albert T. PEABODY. Regards, Ken Shute

You may be aware of some or all of this, but I pass it on for what it's worth. If the Ephraim in these sightings is the same as yours, he must have been a fast mover. In ancestry.com there is a record of DAR lineage for a Mrs. Grace Hastings Sharp, including Ephraim HASTINGS and Sara PARKER, which I repeat below: The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution Volume 120 page 209 Mrs. Grace Hastings Sharp. DAR ID Number: 119672 Born in Parkertown, Ohio. Wife of Dallas L. Sharp. Descendant of Hon. John Hastings, as follows: 1. During the Revolution he was a member of the Senate and served as State councilor. He was born at Colchester, Conn.; died in Hatfield, Mass. Also No. 68651. I find Waitstill G. Elizabeth HASTINGS 1828-1907. Infant HASTINGS, Int. Nov. 25, 1871, 1 mo. c/o L. Waitstill G. HASTINGS 1826-1892. I could not find Ephraim HASTINGS in our 1850 Census for Sandusky County, OH. 2. I am searching for information about the MYERS family that lived in and around Republic in Adams Township from about 1845 to at least 1900. I have an article about the suicide of Jonas Myers, the brother of my ancestor, Nathan Myers. Our Myers' were part of the Lehigh County, PA to Seneca County, OH migration. Nathan and Leah Myers moved to Seneca County about 1845. They were in Thompson Township on the 1850 census. Nathan and Leah moved to Allen County, IN between 1850 and 1860. Nathan's brother, Jonas, remained in Seneca County. I'm also interested in finding out who the parents and siblings of CATHARINE ("KATE") WHITEMAN are. Kate married Israel Myers in Allen County, IN, in 1874. The census records say she was born in Ohio. I'm assuming her family moved to Allen County from Seneca County, too, but that's only an assumption at this point. If anyone can help me, I'd be very, very grateful. Karen
