The monument (a six foot tall obelisk) has markings for his wife but local legend is that the wife's side of the family didn't want her buried up there. For the really curious, driving north on Upper Twin Creek about 3-4 miles from US 52 you will pass a farm with a old sawmill visible from the road. Park your car past this farm (state property is marked with yellow paint). Walk west up the hill to the ridge, the grave is in that area. Be warned, it is a rough walk with lots of briars, downed timber, and steep terrain. Mr. Cooper will forever look over his old stomping grounds and will continue to surprise hikers like me for eternity. To me this is much better than being one of many in a cemetary. His enscription reads, "Behold stranger as you pass me by, As you are now, once was I. As I am now, so you must be. Prepare for death, and follow me." Hope you found this interesting.
