    3. Hi Herma, Yes, I have a copy of her death certificate that was filled out by my uncle, and he said Springfield. But again, he probably heard her say that, and I'm back to square one. :-) I know that the state required birth records to be kept from 1867 on up (though I'm aware that not every person was recorded, and there were fires and floods and such that may have destroyed them), is there any chance that anyone will be where they can glance for William O. Hixon and Laura Ellen "Ella" Rice Hixon having a daughter Bessie Mae Hixon on or around May 16, 1901? I would be happy to donate a small sum for the effort. Like I said, if this proves fruitless then I'll give up and assume that somehow they went up to Clark County, but I just can't give up without one last search.
