As the OGS Trustee who works with the chapters in Athens, Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Pike, Ross, Scioto, and Vinton Counties, I invite any of you who are planning to attend the annual conference this weekend. to introduce yourselves. Because the Ohio Genealogical Society is celebrating it's 50th year, we are starting the conference with a special banquet on Thursday evening with a great speaker. Friday and Saturday will be full of classes with seven different tracks available for each time slot. There will be something for everyone, no matter how much or little experience you have. Walk in registrations are welcome, but if you would want to attend any of the luncheons or banquets you would need to contact the OGS office in Mansfield as soon as possible. Once the conference starts there are a very limited number of meal tickets available. This conference is being held at the Sawmill Creek Resort in Huron, OH. This is about 15 minutes from Cedar Point Amusement Park. There are no rooms available at the resort hotel, but there are several hotel/motels nearby.
