Jackson James Simpson Jackson, 61, of 3652 Gallia St., New Boston, died at 5:20 p.m., Thursday at Mercy Hospital following a short illness. Jackson was assistant superintendent of the rod and wire mill of Detroit Steel Corp. Portsmouth Division. Born May 7, 1902 in Fleming County, Ky., he was a son of Allen and Palina Wright Jackson. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Effie Harris Jackson; two daughters, Mrs. Sue Meder (or Mader?) of the Gallia St. address, and Mrs. Josephine Tice of Beaumont, Tex.; a son, Robert of the Gallia St. address; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Cooper and Mrs. Elizabeth Harris, both of Muncie, Ind., and Mrs. Vina Bate (or Bale?) of Davenport, Iowa; two brothers, Luther Jackson of Muncie and William Jackson of Detroit and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two children and a sister. Funeral services are to be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at New Boston Methodist Church, with Rev. Howard Hovatter officiating. Burial is to be in Memorial Burial Park under direction of Daehler Funeral Home. Friends may call at the residence after 7p.m. Saturday.
