I found them in the 1880 Scott Co, VA census also, thanks to Annie's DC and figured that the 1880 Leonadas could be your Lee. Did you find John and 2nd wife Julia in 1900, 1910 and 1920 census records? I believe the Kentucky connection is that John and Julia with Lewis and James (and many other children)and also separate family of Lee with Mollie & children are all in Lawrence County KY in 1900 census.
