I had come across the DC before and suspected it was a Lee Carr for a signature. I was at Memorial Burial Park trying to confirm this but their records just have a name and date of burial (John was the 25th person buried in the cemetery!) Today I came across on that website you gave a DC for Lewis's daughter Annie. Led me to see that Lewis was born in Scott Co. Virginia. The 1880 has a John Carr with a son Leeonadas who is the right age and right Place of Birth to be Lee Carr. I have a query up on the Scott County Virginia board trying to find anything else on the family from their time there. I gather they were in Kentucky at some point, because that is where Lee met wife Mollie Castle Carr. Hopefully this will all yield some more good news!
